Nagaland Livestock Development Board (NLDB)

The Nagaland Livestock Development Board (NLDB) implements various programme for enhancement productivity of livestock in consonant with breeding policy of  the State. It also focused on streamlining breeding activities by using superior germplasm in the state.

The Training Centre of NLDB is equipped with Audio- visual teaching aids, library and better in-house facilities for conducting Basic Artificial Insemination training (3 months course) for both private and in-service candidates.  During 2017-18, total of 63 persons has successfully completed Basic Artificial Insemination (AI). In addition, Refreshers training course are conducted at regular intervals for improving skills and expanding the breeding activities.

Further, NLDB also implements National Programme on Bovine Breeding (NPBB), which is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme. This scheme aimed primarily on regular supply of frozen semen doses to the farmers for artificial insemination at their doorstep.
